The International Celluloid Golem Puppet Art Festival 2026, curated by half past selber schuld, provides the occasion for a group exhibition on the theme of puppetry at the Theatermuseum.

In addition to interactive exhibits by half past selber schuld, the exhibition will explore the puppets, works, and techniques of other puppeteers. Jamie Shannon (CAN), Jesse Blanchard (USA), Eric Steegstra (NL), and Pigmalião Escultura que Mexe (BRA) will each contribute their own unique styles and aesthetics to this extraordinary exhibition, which will use interactive objects and audience-operated mechanisms to illustrate the functions and techniques employed.

During the festival, the virtual exhibition “Puppets 4.0 – an imaginary museum” will be on display, a digital virtual reality exhibition developed by the German Forum for Puppetry and Puppetry Arts (FIDENA).
