How to take part in the 48-hour Puppet Film Challenge
Join us for the 48-Hour Puppet Film Project 2026 starting Friday, April 17th! We’ll reveal a randomly-drawn theme, item, and action – and then you or your team have 48 hours to build, film, edit, and submit a short puppet film (3 minutes or less)!
You have a chance to win prizes, bragging rights, and, most importantly, you get the spark to ignite a film of your own. Whether you’re a pro or a first-timer, you can participate from anywhere in the world!
The Timeline:
- Registration is now possible at the Green Feather Foundation
- Challenge Begins: Friday, April 17 @ 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm CEST
- Deadline for Submission: Sunday, April 19 @ 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm CEST
- Presentation of selected films on May 7th from 9:30 pm in the Foyer of the FFT.

The challenge is presented by Heather Henson’s Handmade Puppet Dreams (USA) and Griffin Eye Productions (USA) in cooperation with the Celluloid Golem Puppet Art Festival (Germany).
